Details:

It actually was about Alice in Wonderland. The Queen was a black woman and Alice had a cat who she would sit on her bed with at the end of the show. ALL HUMAN!

The weird part is that I usually tell people to go to imdb.com for movie & tv questions, except that this show wasn't "Alice's" Adventures in Wonderland but merely Adventures in Wonderland. My including "Alice" in the search kept hanging it up. Consequently, the <tv.com> reference is below.
