I'm looking to get some ideas of cities/towns I should research to make a possible move to.
I'm 27 and single and would like to move somewhere that I can afford to purchase my first home. I don't want to live in the boonies, I need to live somewhere that is no more than a half hour drive from a decent mall and less than 10 minutes to the necessity stores -- grocery stores, Home Depot/Lowe's, Target/Wal-Mart, etc. I don't mind the snow (as a matter of fact, I love it!) and I'm going to be starting my own graphic design/letterpress business out of my home in whatever town I move to. A decent arts community would be a plus, though not required. I'd also like to live within an hour's drive to an International Airport. And I rely heavily on my car...I don't like relying on public transportation to get me where I need to be. I'd like to be as close as possible to friends and family living in Upstate NY, Northern VT, Central/Eastern PA and New Jersey.
every morning yew wake up, get ready for the day, sometimes go to work or study if your a student, eat, drink, walk the dog or whatever, maybe theres a tv programme you like thats on at 6, same old pub down the road, same old faces, sleep....I can't help but think that routine dominates our lives so much that most of us aren't enjoying it as much as we should. Yew think ooo a holiday would help, and yes the idea does excite you for a bit but most of the time when you get there you fall straight into planning every single day out so theres not really any suprise left. Kind of sad to think about really...Is there anything without routine??
Do you prefer an agenda packed, full itinerary planned down to the minute? Knowing where you will dine in four days and six hours? Making transportation connections by seconds? Listing the souvenirs you'll buy before you leave? Or......... Do you like to check into the room, flip on the TV, plug in your lap top, crank up the AC and call room service, only going out for more ice and Stolie?
I've traveled extensively in the "new world" - U.S., Mexico and Canada, but this is the first time I'll visit Europe. I already intend to see the Van Gogh and Rembrandt museums and will make a day trip to the Hague to see some art. I'm interested in other places in Amsterdam (restaraunts!) and shared experiences of others who've traveled to/vacationed in Amsterdam.
Do you think traveling makes you feel tired and exhausted? Does it make you feel irritated? Do airline delays make you blow your fuse? How do you keep sane?
I'm writing a book analysis about a runaway teen. I want to use some real travel information in my essay, because my teacher is big on real-life connections.
What is the cheapest form of one-way travel from Portland, Oregon? I don't care what the destination is, or whether it be a train, plane, or greyhound-type bus. I'd love something in the near future, friday or saturday? (novemeber 13th and 14th) This is really important, I hope you can help! :)
I am a 22 year old Canadian looking to go to culinary school in London (which is already crazy expensive) and I need to find somewhere to live that I can afford. My boyfriend has his European Union Citizenship so he will be coming with me and we will be sharing the cost of rent. I would like to find a place in a relatively safe area as I am a pretty tiny girl. The problem is everything I've found is over 2000 $ Canadian a month, which is undoable for me. Any suggestions of where I can look?
I want to buy a MP3 storage device hopefully with this $50.00 gift cert that my boss gave me. I plan to check out books on tape from the library, write them to my c-drive at work and burn them to the MP3 storage device so that I can patch the MP3 storage device into the aux jack on my cassette deck in the roadtripmobile. I don't need video, high fidelity or pretty. I need to get 60 to 100 hours of voice quality audio memory for cheap and a way to get it into my car cassette deck.
My friend is celebrating her 40th birthday in Las Vegas and we would like to have a party in her honor. Where would be a good place on the Strip to hold a party for her that would not cost too much. We anticipate to have about 40 guests. We only need a room at this time. We will make our own arrangements for food etc.
Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed about becoming a chef. When other kids would watch the saturday morning cartoons, I would be up watching cooking shows with my mom. I am 22 years old and I am a full time student, but I really want to start my career as a chef. I would LOVE/ do anything to attend 'Le Cordon Bleu in London'. My mom has always tried to help me do whatever I would like to, but she really can't afford to help and neither can I. I am working full time, going to school full time and barely making enough for the flights over there! Anyone have any ideas of how I can start to raise money and make my dreams come true? I know there has to be some way! I just started a blog today on the topic called the cooking corner! Thanks=)
My husband and I are planning a trip to Windsor California in December. Would love to hear any comments anyone might have about this area regarding restaurants, things to do, etc...
I am getting married in December but I am not moving to Florida untill febuary or march. I promised my frined that I would be there for her when she has her baby. When do I have to change my name I don't want to pay the 36 dollars for a Wisconsin ID just to have to pay again to get a Florida ID.
I don't know when it was made exactly. I watched it on TV about 5 or 6 years ago about fairies. It was a man traveling to places such as Nova Scotia, Scotland, Ireland and interviewed a number of people who had seen them or even interacted with them. It MAY have been on Nova or PBS. I honestly can't remember and I'd like to watch it again. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks
ok, so the Unaccompanied Minors rule on the Greyhound Bus line is that minors under fifteen can ride with a fifteen year old or older and wouldn't hav to be checked in/out. my friend is 14 (seriously, she's 2 months from being 15) and we want to go to the state capitol for a weekend, which is an hour away by bus. I'm 14, but I just turned 14. Could we get away with saying my friend is 15? Our parents have friends out there, but they can't pick us up due to work. is there any way we could do this?
My specific problem is when I go to a location that is downtown where they may or may not have their own parking lot and where there may or may not be available street side parking. My current system is to look up addresses online and try to find a parking structure that way or to get where I'm going and then tell my unit I am looking for parking. I can't help but think it would be more convenient if I could put the address I am going to into my unit and then tell it that what I actually want is a place where I can park my car near that destination. Or to have the option of telling it I am looking for parking and that said parking should be near X address. Does anyone know of a unit that does this? Another thing that would be nice is to have a feature where I can say I am looking for a restaurant or gas station that is on my route to where ever it is that I am going. j
I've seen some cases of animal cruelty from working at an SPCA and to me the punishment for animal cruelty isn't enforced as concretely as it should be. It is a hidden crime that is growing faster than we can blink. What are your opinions on animal cruelty? Should there be harsher punishment? Why doesn't law enforcement see it as a major crime no matter to what extent of cruel the incident was? I am big on animal cruelty and I also think that violence towards animals is an underlying sign of potential abuse to humans. Should there be further investigation?
When I'm cruising around Askville I frequently get a binging sound followed by a message saying I had an "Ajax Error". The messages usually come in multiples of 3 or 4 and are difficult to clear from my screen so I can get on to the next exiting adventure on the 'Ville.
