"Torque Wheel Spindles for Ford F-150 2005"

Wheel lugs are 150 lb-ft (final torque).  You do this in an alternating cross pattern starting with about 25 lbs and working up in icremental fashion to get to 150.  All versions... the 6 cly and 8 cly verisons all torque lug nuts the same.  Tire should NOT be on the ground firmly when torquing.  Adjoining mounting surfaces should be cleaned to ensure parallelism.  Over/under torquing can cause warpage of rotor, wheel, etc.

To torque spindles you torque and spin... torque and spin... incrementally to get to 221 lb-ft for the spindle nut.  A good technique is to go over that to 250 lb-ft and then back off to 221.  This ensures a good seating of the wheel.  Spin should have smooth resistance and no gravel-ly feel (bad bearing/race).  Under torquing will cause uneven load on bearings and premature bearing failure.  Over torquing will cause excessive heat.

The word you seek, as pointed out by Fuzzy, is torque (which means applying circular force); you shouldn't torch anything on your truck - that's called arson, and is probably a felony.
