Details:

I want to try a salt free seasoning (prepackaged or a homemade mixture) on air popped popcorn. Please include how to make it stick to air popped popcorn (ideally without butter!)

As far as getting it to stick, make sure you apply these condiments as soon as the air popped popcorn is done.  Also, make sure that the cheese is kept fresh in the fridge with it's container shut tight while being stored.  You will most probably end up with a bit of a dust bowl on the bottom of the bowl but IMO, that's better than piling on butter or it's substitute.

Good luck and have fun!  (don't forget to floss ;-)

Rhestholm, regarding your answer "I am fond of this combination: freshly ground black pepper, crushed red pepper and grated Parmesan cheese.": that looks great-- the parmesan will still have salt though. Moderation is good.
