Details:

Personally the phrase "quiet time" in reference to daily devotional time is a little preschool sounding to me.

I agree that "quiet time" sounds like a kindergarten term. I like the following:

quiet retreat
time for reflection
introspection time
spiritual growth time

I like quiet retreat best.

"a few suggestions"

Prayer Time, meditation, spiritual exercises (phrase comes from St. Ignatius of Loyola - definitely not pre-school stuff), prayer closet.

Funny how a little bit of terminology can turn us off to something we want to do and need to do.  I haven't found a real good name for it either.  Usually refer to it as my Bible-reading.  Open to suggestions too.

"I just call it my alone time with God"

I have always just called it that. It has never been a big deal, everyone in our family knows that if another member goes into the bed room and closes the door and turns the lock that We need some alone time.

hope this helps
