CMA Awards 2009 winners are announced. The CMA Awards 2009 winners are happy about their 2009 CMA Awards wins. Who won the various awards last night? Let me tell you what, there were plenty of surprises, laughs, and not-so-big surprises that made this night grand.

Taylor Swift won all of the awards that she was up for - but is that a surprise? The surprise was that Kanye West didn't pop up on stage to talk about how someone else should have won the awards. Lady Antebellum had a good night as well with 2 wins. Before

Entertainer of the Year: Taylor Swift

Male Vocalist of the Year: Brad Paisley

Song of the Year: "In Color," Jamey Johnson (w/ cowriters Lee Thomas Miller and James Otto)

Best New Artist of the Year: Darius Rucker

Musician of the Year: Mac McAnally

Event of the Year: "Start a Band," Brad Paisley and Keith Urban

Vocal Group of the Year: Lady Antebellum

Vocal Duo of the Year: Sugarland

Everyone that I was rooting for during the CMA Awards 2009 ended up winning. I love Taylor Swift because she is youg, and she hasn't let fame make her grow up too fast. She's refreshingly funny, and is multi-talented, as her music crosses over from country to top 40 seamlessly. Country music should love young artists such as Taylor Swift because they will inspire other young people to listen to that genre of music.

Sugarland won Vocal Duo of the year. Again, I was rooting for them because their music is so inspiring and wholesome.

Although Taylor Swift didn't have the most nominations (Brad Paisley did), she walked away with the most wins. Lady Antebellum had 2 wins, and Brad Paisley had 2 wins as well. Miss Swift had a whopping 4 wins, meaning she walked away with over 30% of the awards.

Tonights 2009 Country Music Awards were hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. The show kicked off by a performance by Taylor Swift, who was tonights big winner!
Tonight’s CMA’s featured some awesome performers, but not many surprises in the form of who won awards. Tim McGraw took the stage after a four year absence from the CMA’s. He sang his current hit single “Southern Voice”. Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews also gave an outstanding performance of their duo, “I’m Alive”. Others performing were Reba, Zac Brown Band, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and more!
One of the first performers, Darius Rucker, gave one of the best performances in my opinion. Rucker sang his hit single “That’s Alright” as he made his way through the audience shaking hands, giving high 5’s and singing with guests. Darius Rucker was named the best New Artist of the Year.

Taking home the award for best Group of the Year was Lady Antebellum. Lady A. also won the award for Single of the Year for “I Just Need You Now”

The Vocal Duo of the Year went to Sugarland. How did you like Jennifer Nettles’ black evening dress? She looked stunning!

The Song of the Year award went to Jamey Johnson. This was a surprise win to me, but “In Color” was a great song--there is no doubt about it!

Album of the Year was scooped up by Ms. Taylor Swift. Swift performed her hit single, “15” surrounded by a group of young ladies who sang along with her.

Musical Event of the Year went to Brad Paisley and Keith Urban for “Start a Band”.

The Male Vocalist of the Year was awarded to Brad Paisley. As I stated in my predictions, I thought it was time for Brad to win this award and I was right on the money! This just goes to show that hard work does pay off!

Taylor Swift was the winner the Video of the Year Award for “Love Story”, as well as the Female Vocalist of the Year. As the announcement was made, Taylor looked absolutely stunned. Her acceptance speech was very humble. She started off by saying, “I just got a hug from Kris Kristofferson--I’m GOOD!” She also thanked the audience for staying in their seats and not jumping up on stage to interrupt.

And that leaves us to the last award, the “biggie” for the night, the Entertainer of the Year Award. I knew when the presenters for this award were announced who the winner would be and I was right! This year the winner of the Entertainer of the Year went to Taylor Swift. She becomes the youngest winner of the Entertainer of the Year Award. Taylor’s acceptance speech was interrupted by tears and then she invited her band members to come up on stage with her. This year’s CMA show belongs to Taylor Swift!
