Details:

Looking for an estimate of the total number of Flickr subscribers who have upgraded to a pro (paid) account. Ideally, would also like to know what % of Flickr accounts have been upgraded to pro (paid) accounts.

The information does not seem to be public, but here is a detailed estimate-

From-

So, exactly how many pro-members are there? Unless Yahoo releases that information, there is no way to tell. To estimate, consider the following information for 7.5 million members, and each non-paying member is allowed a maximum of 200 photos (showing):
* 200 photos per member => 1.5 billion photos from non-paying members
*100 photos per member=> 750 million photos from non-paying members
* 50 photos per member => 375 million photos from non-paying members

The above numbers indicate that the average number of non-paying members is between 50-100 photos (to account for a total of about 500 million Flickr photos as of May 2007. If one assumes

100,000 pro-members @1,000 photos (average total per member), that will be equivalent to 100 million photos, leaving 400million photos to be contributed by the other 7.4 million non-paying members. This means an average photo contribution of about 50-60 per member -- which seems rather low. If it is closer to 100 photos for each member, then the number of pro-member accounts is even less than 100 thousand.

In effect therefore, the maximum revenue that Flickr gets from pro-members is around $2.5 million => 0.195% of Yahoo annual revenue -- most likely lower than higher.

Thank you for an interesting question!
