I have enameled cast iron.  On the few occassions that something discolors the pan or pot, I use Soft Scrub with Bleach and that brings them back to new.

For rust, wash, hand dry and do what my chef used to do, wipe them down with a papertowel that has a little bit of cooking oil on it. This also works for metal cake decorating tips as they tend to get rusty with use and washings.


For a cookie sheet that is just unusable...spray paint it with chalkboard paint for a repurposed kitchen chalkboard (handy by the phone) Its also magnetic so you can hold your shopping list on it. Spray paint it with a cool color and let the kids have it for the magnetic letters and numbers.

(I am all about repurposing :D)
