It's in the Middle East.  It is located within the state of Israel on it's eastern border.  It's right between Israel and Jordan.  There is also a piece of Palestine called the Gaza strip which is located on the Mediterranean Sea between Israel and Egypt.  Also included within the Palestinian territories is part of Jerusalem (East Jerusalem).

The state of Palestine dates back for thousands of years and has always held roughly the same geographical location as the current state which was formalised after the second world war; if memory serves me correctly the Balfour agreement of 1954 was the last international treaty to determine the boundaries of Israel and Palestine.

Palenstine is a designation for the occupied areas of Israel. It doesn't exist as a country it is an indepentant entity in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
