"People don't get rich by giving away money"

Most of the wealthy people in the world spend a lot more time making money than giving it away. There are indeed a lot of charities and many people do make donations, but most of that money goes toward specific causes like helping feed and clothe the poor, aiding in disaster recovery, providing after school programs for at-risk youth, trying to find cures to diseases, and so on. Not a lot of it goes to individuals who just want money.

If you're really set on finding people to give you money, there are lots of panhandlers who sit on street corners begging for change. Some of them make a pretty good living, at least enough to buy food and alcohol. That's one of the few places you're going to get free money.

If you're actually looking for a job, well then you're set! There are all sorts of job websites like Craigslist.org , Monster.com , hotjobs.com ... I can't even keep track of them. There are probably a couple targeted specifically to where you live, among all the general ones. You can also look in your local newspaper for help wanted ads. Looking around business areas for Help Wanted signs is a good bet too, or just going into places you'd like to work and asking for an application. The grocery stores and fast food restaurants in my area area almost always looking for new employees.

Good luck with finding money. I think the job rout will ultimately be much more fruitful than just looking for free handouts.

Secret shopping, pay-to-click sites, Amazon Mechanical Turk itself. (I made 35.94 in two weeks on mTurk!) Heck, returnable bottles are a way to get cash. Are you looking to support yourself entirely, or to fill in around other sources of income? Registering with a temp agency is a good way to start to get your feet under yourself, if you're flat busted. Let them know you're willing to take very short term assignments--they'll appreciate it, and you'll meet more people in less time, which can lead to other opportunities. I'm just getting started with this blog, but believe me, I have lots of experience with finding ways to scrape by. Come visit, drop me a line and let me get you set up with some of the little things I do to make a few bucks. http://afewbucks.blogspot.com/ And may good fortune follow thee.
