"How about Mango syrup or puree?"

Persimmons are deliciously astringent when ripe.  But, I must admit, I love the thought of mango syrup or puree (or crushed fresh mango) more.

The links below are for mango products.

The source link contains frozen persimmon puree. I don't think that will work for you; but, I provide you with that link anyway.

Japanese Persimmon (cultivar 'Hachiya') - watercolor 1887

What your making sounds good either way.

"I have never heard of Persimmon syrup, but ...."

...if you are using it over ice cream, do what I do with many different types of fruit. Take your ripe persimmons, peel and pulse in your food processor. Add the pulp to a pan of simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water boiled down to make a thick syrup) and simmer together to get the right consistency. If you want to make it smoother, put the syrup back into the food processor and blend again. This works great with peaches, pears, nectarines, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries....You get the idea. It was just a thought!

"I'm sorry, but Askville isn't Amazon's help-desk - the website is misleading. Try Google."

I'm truly sorry to be unhelpful, but recently it seems that Amazon have altered the reference to Askville on their website so as to indicate - wrongly - that Askville functions as a kind of Amazon help desk. Several of us have written to Askville requesting that this be changed, because many people like yourself come here with a technical or product-related question that should really be directed to Amazon. We're just a bunch of plain folk with a great discussion group (you'd be welcome to join) but not an extension of Amazon. So sorry that you've been misled. Feel free to complain to Amazon about it - I find about ten letters like your in half an hour on the site, and it's not fair to you and it's not good publicity for Amazon.
