Details:

Instead of candy favors (many people d/n eat them anyway) for my parents' 50th anniversary, we are making little booklets. Our idea was to tell a little bit about how our parents met, fell in love, and decided to get married, since many people don't know those little details.

The booklets are turning out great so far, but I just have one thing I need help on. We're using a printed vellum cover with their names and the anniversary date(s) on it -- but feel like it needs a little more text, similar to a title.

Here are the criteria we're working with: It needs to be clever but not cutesy, personal but not syrupy/flowery, and concise but not cold/impersonal. So far, a few of us have brainstormed and the word "journey" keeps coming up -- but we don't want it to sound like a travelogue or biography.

If you were making them, what would you put on the cover page? Thanks!!!

"A journey through life..."

How about this:

Life itself is not the destination; it is the journey..

then there is this one, but I’m not sure it’s as appropriate in your situation:

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "WOW!! What a ride!".

Hope you find the right thing to say!

"Grats to Your Folks!"

I just threw my father and stepmother a 25th Anniversary Party so I know what you are going through.  I put together a slide presentation of them over the years and all their kids, grandkids, etc.  Everyone loved it and my eldest neice picked the song to play in the background.

Ok so for your book you might consider:

Hand in Hand Forever

Golden Memories

50 Years of Loving

Just my thoughts. I personally like the first one best.

"This might be too long, but it made me reflect about life"

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"

Find something beautiful to notice. It doesn’t have to be something you see it could be a scent - perhaps of freshly baked bread wafting out of someone’s house, or it could be the sound of the breeze slightly rustling the leaves in the trees, or the way the morning light catches the autumn leaf as it falls gently to the ground. Go barefoot. Or walk on the beach at sunset. Stop off on the way home tonight to get a double-dip ice cream cone. For as we get older, it is not the things we did that we often regret, but the things we didn’t do.
I hope your parents' journey is a wonderful one so far and will continue for many more years. I hope they will still have many moments that take their breath away.
