The Nazi Party tried their best to remove Christ from Christmas by paganising carols, producing glittering swastika, iron cross and toy grenade baubles for the fir tree, research for a new exhibition has found.

Their plan was to remove the emotional ties of the Church and merge Christmas into a Julfest, a celebration of winter and light which drew on pagan traditions.

I am starting to notice that some of my favorite bands, especially European have been touring in Mexico, but not in USA. Also, I find it interesting that Anime came to Mexico at least a decade before USA. Can someone explain why? Give me some perspective. I live in Texas, and have barely been out of state, let alone the country so I don't know very much about other nations or cultures and am VERY anxious to learn. There's a lot of talk these days about how barbaric Muslims have been, what with the beheadings, the enslavement of women, and the indiscriminate killing of "innocent" people all over the world. The best defense against any political commitment is to say: "I'm just walking to work." On the other hand, it may be possible to see that there are certain barbaric practices in "our" own civilization. Unless I'm mistaken, no one has engaged in mass killings quite the way "white" people do it: They have used chemicals, biological agents, and even guns to kill millions of people all around the world, especially in Africa, the Americas, and in Asia.
The British alone have a lot of blood on their hands and they are "a Christian people." If anyone is counting and if counting is the way to decide (it may not be), then we have to conclude that European civilizations or "civilization" has been far more bloody and vicious than anything Islam has on offer.

I was watching the "Rise and Fall Of The Berlin Wall" on "The History Channel" and I was saw a tank with TWO gun barrels in its turret on some old footage from the time. Can anyone tell what kind of tank this is?

Why is it ok for African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and every other "-" American to be proud of race but whitey cant? They can say "Brown Pride" and they are just being "proud of their heritage". I say "white pride" and all of a sudden im a Klansman or a Nazi. Im an american... not a white-American, not a Caucasian-American, not an Aryan-American, I'M JUST AMERICAN! when you put your race before your nationality you do nothing more than prove you are or want to be different than everyone else...no?

I've been following the news, like everyone else, about the terrible tragedy that took place last week at Fort Hood, Texas. One piece of information really infuriated me, and that was despite credible evidence that Major Nidal Malik Hasan harbored terrorist tendencies, no action was taken because of the fear of offending him due to the fact that he was a Muslim. Aren't we putting ourselves at risk, as evident of what happened at Fort Hood, by continuing this practice?

The movie was made within the last few years and all I know was it was about a man who loved a woman so much, but she ended up marrying someone else, not just once but a couple or few times. The man waited for her through each of these marriages (the husbands died from one thing or another I guess). That's about 44 million Americans. There's enough food to go around. Why are people still hungry?

I'm constantly running into questions, my own and others', where I'll see two, three, or more answers that are nothing but blatant copy-and-paste jobs. They don't give any actual input, often don't credit their plagiarized sources, and nine times out of ten, the information they decided to clutter the question with has very little or nothing to do with the actual question or working towards an answer for the inquiring party.

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT THIS?

I know there is the abuse reporting system, but how well is it really working? Half of the questions I read have this problem and I'm getting sick of it. It's bad enough that many questions would appear to have been written by a 7 year-old, but these answers are further frustration. How can pasting a page from wikipedia answer an opinion-seeking question? I come here to kill time and feel useful when I can help somebody with something.

So help me if someone threadcraps here, I don't know what I'll do...

everywhere! It's not that noticable, because it's so fine, but it seems to be on everything and everyone. And they are hacking up furballs, and not in the litter box. So, I got to thinking... Maybe I'll shave my cats and be done with the cat hair problem. Now on the slight chance that I actually do this, and the slim chance that I survive the encounter, are there any downsides??? Besides the cost of the shaving cream, the multiple razors, first aid salve and bandages??? I know the cats aren't likely to be too happy with the turn of events, but will they be safe and warm enough without their fur covering? Will they suicide bacause they look too strange? Am I likely to find "presents" in obscure places?
