Droll is the word that comes to mind! He cracks me up. I love the "Thanks for the Memos," and the "Town of the Week" segments. It's really weird. You can actually learn something pretty painlessly without even trying. And it might even be something useful. Who knew?
If you like his show, you probably know the show has its own website, but just in case you don’t:

If you like this type of show, there's another one that's sort of like it callled "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me."
You might want to check it out if you don't already know about it. Like Whad'yaknow, its a lively, quirky, fun-filled way to waste an hour. Its more geared toward current events, but they have the audience participation and the jokes and the pretty nearly worthless prizes. You can download podcasts of old shows and see where they're going to be when they're on the road at their website.

My car radio, the office radio, and even my KIDS car radios are all set to NPR. (We used to have a station here that advertised themselves..."Lock it in and RIP THE KNOB OFF!"--well, we sort of do that with NPR).
So yes, I do listen to Whddayaknow (Not much! You?") pretty much every week, and love it. Great quiz, great music, and Michael Feldman is lots of fun. And yes, if he comes through my area, I'd be in line for tickets!
I've have so thoroughly indoctrinated my kids to NPR that my 18 year old daughter's celebrity crush is on Ira Glass, and on her college entrance essay (for a college in St Paul), she cited the location of "Prairie Home Companion" and Garrison Keiller as one of her reasons for wanting to attend (incidentally, she got in!), and right before Christmas, she and a friend went to a PHC performance! (She brought me a "Lives of the Cowboys" hat and a Powdermilk Biscuits" magnet, and had be specifically listen to the broadcast while she was in the audience). She's plotting out ways to intern at Minnesota Public Radio, in fact, and she's determined enough she might manage to do it!

Once when my kids were younger, we were driving, and the quiz qualification question was on why the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland was Mad. MERCURY POISONING!!! I'm shouting, as phone in after phone in gets it wrong. MERCURY POISONING! My kids are saying "How do you KNOW THAT???" I was a costume designer, and that's the sort of thing we know!

I got to attend one of Michael Feldman's shows in Trenton, NJ, a couple years ago. He has a great sense of humor and is very entertaining. Unfortunately, the NPR station in Philly hasn't treated his show very well. At first, they only broadcast one hour of the two hour show, just abruptly cutting it off at the hour mark. Then they moved his air time to 8pm Saturday night! That just about guarentees that almost no one will be able to listen. :-( You may already know this, but there is a "Whad'ya Know" website. It includes a store where you can purchase related items like clothing and recordings from the show. http://www.notmuch.com/ If you enjoy this show, consider listening to "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" as well. It's another NPR show that quizzes celebrities and everyday people about current events. Sounds boring, but they focus on the more humorous news stories and put a hilarious spin on the important stories. http://www.npr.org/programs/waitwait/
