As to whether you should go that way, I would say that if you have an interest in it you will probably find it useful to you. I don't have one but I've been to BBQs where they were used and they really do a good job of cooking poultry well, and other things, too, I imagine. And they're not that much more expensive than a regular grill, so I would say go for it.
