Details:

I have a couple of books on reloading, but I am looking for one that specifically deals with reloading for the AR-15. I have heard that this particular rifle is sensitive to several factors and there is some special steps and/or equipment I may need to buy.

"Gas Operated Weapon"

Yes... because this is a gas operated gun in that some of the expanding gases are rerounted through a tube and used to recycle the gun (get it to grab and chamber the next round) you must have enough power loaded in the round to do that plus push the round to its 3500 fps velocity.  Will fire hollow points, azide tips, tracers, and just about anything you throw in there... but the load is specific and I think must be consistent for fast firing.

I don't think the steps will differe from regular reloading but I do believe there is a step to waterproof the seam between the round and the casing and also the casing and the firing cap.  This so the gun can get wet... even taken underwater without misfiring.  Soldiers cross rivers, creeks, etc. and get these weapons wet.  Since you won't be doing that I wouldn't be too concerned about that step unless you are going to be storing ammo for a long time.  You a survivalist are ya?

Sources: IMHO... I own an M-16A1... have not reloaded own shells however
