Ichiro Suzuki is my favorite Mariner for 3 reasons:
- He has a great arm, butr the old school in me would go with Clemente, and as someone else replied, other great arms that Ichiro may be close to, but not exceed, would include: Ellis Valentine, Willie Mays, and Dwight Evans. Parker and Vlad Guerrero also had/have a great "hose" but probably not as accurate as Ichiro. Normally a base hit to right field with a man on second is an easy run. Not the case with Ichiro.
- He is fast. He can steal a base standing up even when you know he is running.
- Superstition and ritual. I love the whole motion including the pointing the bat before every pitch.

Fancy accent marks!
No, it's really because my grandmother has tickets to the mariners' AAA team and I watched him a fair amount when visiting. I think I have a few autographs from him too, though I'm not sure where. So, since he's ~the only person from the old teams that I specifically remember, I root for him.
