I find that the most intelligent people have the most extraordinary dreams.  But to answer your question,  I know that I dream in color because one of my most memorial dreams was very involved with color.  I've talked about this in other posts so will keep the background brief -- but I recorded this dream toward the end of an experiment in dreaming that I did over a summer break during grad school.

Part of the experiment involved keeping a dream diary.  You trained yourself to wake up and either speak or write a small description of the dream you were having (I used a hand-operated recorder).  I started with remembering no dreams and wound up having so many containing so much information that I simply couldn't keep up with the data, so I was forced to stop.  But here is the most colorful one...

I was moving slowly deep under water.  The water was beautiful, sun-lit from far above, and a deep aquamarine.  As it moved it made music.  In front of me was an underwater community with domes and inhabitants moving back and forth.  In front of the domes were bright orange machines that were excavating the sea floor for a new structure.  As they moved, they also made music and this music fit just exactly as a counterpart to the ocean music (sort of like Bach).   Moreover, the water and the machines didn't just make music, the water and the machines were music.

Most of my dreams are in color, it is just that this one featured it.  I would like to hear more about your dreams.  By the way, the experiments came from an old book called Creative Dreaming and it is still cheap and available from resellers.

My dreams are very vivid and I am usually the hero.  There are multiple dreams most nights (and afternoon naps) and sometimes if I wake up during a good one I can sometimes get it back.

Then there are recurring dreamsFor months I would be standing in my kitchen with my daughter (as a baby) and a dog and a catI couldn't remember if I had jus fed them or if I had even fed them recently or if I was supposed to be feeding them right now.-go ahead bring on the shrinks.

There was even a psychic dreamIt was on a stage and I was in the spotlightIn the shadows was an old high school boyfriendMost people thought of him as a bad boy but he was really a sweet guyIn the dream he is asking me to tell people what kind of person he really wasAfter I had this dream a few times, I tried to find himFinally when I visited the area on a genealogy search, I found he had been shot by a family member who was acting in self defenseI never knew who he wanted me to tell but it still stays with me.

The only time I felt I wasn't in control in my dreams was when I was pregnantInstead of saving others from danger, the gangsters, murderers and monsters were after me and I couldn't find my way to safety.

BTW in all my dreams I am 30 years younger and 30 lbs lighter, I may sleep a lot more.

"I also dream in living color!"

I always HAVE dreamed in color.  It sounds odd to me when someone tells me that they DO NOT dream in color!  I have read studies about dreams where the "smart" people say that most people dream in black & white, but that is just such a foreign concept to me that I can't imagine it!  Gosh, their dreams would have to be so BORING!

I'll bet they don't have "serial" dreams either! (where the dream is "continued" from one night to the next)  I sometimes will have dreams in several episodes!  If it's a GOOD dream, I try to go to bed early to catch the next "episode"!

NOW, I bet you don't feel weird anymore, do you?

I dream in color as well. My dream dictionary says that color represents things in real life such as mood and feelings and situations.

Question of my own if I may:

Does anyone remember names from their dreams? I have at least four "individuals" from the past several months... googled all of them but have not come up with real people.

I dont think any of the latest motion pictures technologies can compete with what I dream in.  What's really funny is when you live in a different country and one night you have a dream in the language of the country you are in.  I suppose that is when you know you can converse in that language and not make too big of an idiot of yourself.  I have had plenty of Italian dreams...sorry..there were no English subtitles.  (hehe)  I have yet to dream in German.

Weird is not a bad thing.  If you knew what others dreamed and thought about, I bet you would be pretty normal.
