Details:

I have a DisneyMax movie I'd like to convert to WMV (or any other common format i.e. avi, mpeg, etc.). The video on the SD card is a SMV file. I haven't come across any converters which will do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

.SMV is a PROPRIETARY video file format of Smith Micro VideoLink (Plus)
about $60, which was typically bundled with OEM hardware:
Camcorders, MP3 devices, ...
So you need Smith Micro VideoLink software to read or write .SMV files.

Besides whichever other video file formats VideoLink supports,
VideoLink can read & write H.323 streams.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which means you can use something like VideoLAN
http://www.videolan.org/
to convert another file format via a H.323 connection from/to VideoLink.

.SMV => Smith Micro VideoLink => H.323 stream => VideoLAN => other formats

If you do not have a Macintosh or Microsoft Windows copy of VideoLink,
you might be able to get one by either purchasing hardware with which it is bundled (some camcorders, & MP3 players, ...) or by contacting:
