Details:

I am trying to complete a 12-volt DC television system for my small camper van and keep it as simple as possible. I use solar panels for electricity while boondocking. I do not want to have an AC 110 volt television in the system as it would require an inverter and use too much electricity. DC 12-volt televisions are too expensive for me. But I have a good antennae and a 12-volt powered digital converter box that connects to van's 12 volt power with a cigerette lighter connection. So, if I connect the 12-volt converter box with an antennae to a portable DVD player with an audio video connection, will I receive television broadcasts on the DVD player's LCD screen? Has anyone tried this? Suggestions?

I don't think so, I think your device would need to have a Tuner to be able to access either channel 3-4 to watch your converter box.
