I always wondered if medical science ever studied the time it takes for the brain to stop recieving sight and or sound signals after it's been severed from the body. This is not a sick/twisted question, I'm just wondering how long the brain would function (I would guess maybe a few seconds or stop functioning as soon as it is cut off). Someone has to have studied this via lab tests or eyewitness accounts from years past.
