I don’t think he’s still running the Leftorium, but I’m sure he still has a supply of left-handed can openers. Of course, you might not be referring to Homer’s neighbor, but rather his boss, Mr. Burns, who is also left-handed. Matt Groening is left-handed, too. Many of the characters will write left handed for one episode, and then be right-handed the rest of the time. The most notably left-handed character is Ned.

Ned was the hapless southpaw who opened the Leftorium but quite a few Springfield residents showed up at the store. Mr Burns needed a left handed can opener to feed his kitty and bought the left handed roadster. I can't remember all the other ones who came in the store, it's been awhile since I saw the episode, but there were quite a few regulars in there.
