CHRISTMAS DRAW ON YOUR HEAD GAME Objective: Players draw Xmas pictures on paper on top of their heads. Points are scored on the quality of the drawing. Categories: Christmas Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 2 or more players. Needed: Paper, pens, books for support
Rules: Everyone places a large book on their head with a piece of blank paper on it. They each have a pen. The host then gives a series of instructions. Without looking, the players draw onto their page, which is over their head. Here are the instructions: 1. Draw a line for a floor 2. Draw a Christmas Tree. 3. Draw a star on top of your tree. 4. Draw a fireplace with a mantel next to the tree. 5. Draw a stocking hanging from the mantel of your fireplace." 6. Draw a present below the tree. Have everyone remove their pictures from their heads. It can be pretty funny to see what you have drawn. Scoring: The host now offers points for random hits. 1. 2 points if the tree touches the floor. 2. 2 points if your stocking is touching your mantel 3. 1 point if your star touches your tree. 4. 1 point if your star is above your tree 5. 1 point for every Christmas ornament ball that is ON your tree, etc. 6. 1 point if your fireplace doesn't touch the tree (it's a fire hazard!) 7. 1 point if you actually drew something decorative on your stocking. 8. 2 point if your present if under your tree. The winner is then the person with the most points. It is fun because the 5 year old is as likely to win as grandpa. You can then offer a prize that anyone would like no matter their age, like a giant tin of cashews or a box of chocolates.
CHRISTMAS NAME A SONG Objective: Can you think of a song with a certain word in the title or lyrics? This game is funny and makes you think! Categories: Christmas Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 2 or more players. Needed: None
Rules: Get a group of people together. Choose someone to start. Whoever starts chooses any word they want but it has to be a word from a Christmas carol, and the other players have to think of a carol that has that word in it. Whoever gets it first, then it's their turn to choose a word. It's not as easy as you think...your mind actually goes blank. Now if the group never heard the song before, they will ask you "I challenge you", and that person has to sing a piece of the carol. (just so that they know the person isn't making it up. Or maybe they are! It's really fun!

A lot of movement may be required. Players: 6 or more players. Needed: Boxes for each pair Wrapping paper Tape Ribbon Scissors
Rules: Each pair races to wrap the box and tie the ribbon in a box around the box. The host should warn all the groups that he/she will judge the winner based not only on speed but quality of wrapping. Have all groups start wrapping at the same time. Each person should hold one arm behind their backs (no switching in the middle). After everyone is done, the host can judge the who one. You should make a note of what order the groups finish in.
MEMORY GIFT EXCHANGE Objective: A fun gift exchange where what you end up getting is based on your memory. Categories: Christmas, New Years Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 4 or more players. Needed: Two decks of cards and 6-8 small prizes (can be wrapped or not wrapped). Rules: You'll need 2 decks of cards and 6 to 8 small inexpensive unwrapped gifts or "prizes" such as a half-dollar coin, a small block of postage stamps, pen, candy, small Christmas decoration etc. The game works best if all the prizes/gifts are good gifts, not cheap throw away gifts which no one would ever want. Place all items on a central table or stool. Shuffle each deck well. Distribute one deck as evenly as possible among the participants. Start the game by drawing a card from the deck not distributed. One-by-one, call out the cards drawn from the deck. The person who has that particular matching card may select one prize from the table. Other players must note well who takes which prize. Once they have made their choice, they should try to keep the prize hidden on their person, behind their back or in a pocket etc. Continue until all the prizes are distributed. Now comes the fun part. Keep calling off the cards and the person who has the next card must try to remember who has what prize. If they want the stamps and know Ken has it, they must indicate this by stating "John, I'll take the stamps." or something to that effect. John must then give the stamps to that person. John could also win them back later if he is lucky enough to remember who has them. If a player "misses" by incorrectly matching a prize to a player, he forfeits that turn. Play continues until all cards have been called. Whoever end up with a prize gets to keep it.

PRIZE AUCTION Objective: Auction off fun and hilarious prizes to the highest bidder. Lots of fun to wrap up a party. Categories: Adults, Adults, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Couples, Singles, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, St. Patricks Day Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 2 or more players. Needed: Envelopes, play money, brown paper bags, prizes ($1 to $5)
Rules: This game is designed to be played after all other games at your party have been played. Before your party or gathering, put play money (like Monopoly money) in envelopes with one bill per envelope. Use bills of $20, $50 and $100. Next, play games and have the players play for about 5 envelopes per game with the winners of each game getting an envelope. You can give first place an envelope with a higher bill or you might just let the winners randomly choose from a handful of envelopes. Once you play all your games and get rid of all the envelopes, you start the auction. Hold up a prize in a brown paper bag and start the bidding with $20. Then everyone will get the hang of the auction. The catch is that you hold the brown bag up with the prize inside and have them bid without knowing what they are bidding on. The person with the highest bid opens the bag and to see what they have bought. Have some fun and put some good prizes in bags and some practical jokes in the bags. My guests really enjoyed it when I did this game for my son's baby shower. Especially when someone got some baby food with a bib. That was hysterical. Have fun!
