A: The odd trivia facts that I know!
420 is smoking marijuana and 311 is public nudity. Both of these come from police codes for those offences.
As a result, April 20th is the national pot smoker's holiday. If you smoke pot you're supposed to take off that day and get high. April 20th is a strange day because not only is it the day to get high but it's Hitler's Birthday and the anniversary of Columbine.
There is a band called 311. A rumor went around that because K is the 11th letter in the alphabet that the name of the band stood for KKK. This wasn't true. They liked public nudity.

A: Is it cheating...

To say that my favorite album is a mixed one given to me? I love to turn on the mix when I drive, but I'm not sure that I have a favorite specific album.
So I'll start with my favorite songs:
Creatures (For Awhile)
I remember this song coming out when I graduated from college, and I would search for it on the radio. I even had it as my ringtone briefly. I love this lyric, "Was there ever a time when sleeping willingly leaves my mind?" But my favorite part is when it gets fast and rhythmic and goes into the "Just creatures...go a little crazy" part. I guess because the song does feel like it's animalistic in the beats it uses.
Down
Wow, this song is old, 1995. This must be the first 311 single, as I remember it from high school when I first began listening to the "cool" radio station in Portland. I don't remember anything from Music or Grassroots but it's possible that they were on the radio before I was cool enough.
Amber
I'll just put it out there: this song is a sexy turn-on song and is definitely my favorite 311 song. Of course true fans might feel differently about this song since it is quite different from their other tunes, much more radio friendly, but it is so sexy to me. It's the underlying up-and-down that gets me.
Ok, so time to pick a favorite album...
It would probably have to be Evolver. As I said before, I like listening to 311 in the car, and to me it's the best car album. It gives a good driving rhythm and some fun songs to sing. And to drum along with on the steering wheel. Yeah, you probably don't want to be driving (or worse, walking) near my car when I'm playing Evolver.
