Details:

I had a 3-volume set of children's stories in the late 50's/early 60's. Each volume was a different color, no dust jackets. 1-3 where bright pink, bright blue, and canary yellow respectively. The pink volume was pitched toward younger readers, the yellow volume was pitched toward young adults, and the blue was in the middle. Can anyone identify what this set is??? I have searched for it for many years, without any success at determining the titles or publisher. Thanks!!

If you're talking about the blue fairy book, the yellow fairy book, and the pink fairy book you're in luck! There were even more books available and you can find them on Amazon.com.
I see that they are being sold individually on Amazon, but you can find them here:

http://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Fairy-Book-Andrew-Lang/dp/0486216748/ref=pd_sim_b_title_1

The fairy books actually had 12 books in the set, and they were filled with fairy tales.
In the blue book were stories such as: The Bronze Ring, Prince Hyacinth and the Dear Little Princess, Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, East of the Sun and West of the Moon, The Master Cat or Puss in Boots, The Story of Pretty Goldilocks, Toads and Diamonds...the list goes on!

The pink fairy book included: The Little Hare, The Merry Wives, The Troll's Daughter, The Man without a Heart, The Wounded Lion, The Princess in the Chest, The Goblin and the Grocer, The Cat's Elopement...and many more.

The yellow fairy book had stories such as: How Six Men Travelled Through the Wide World, A Story about a Darning-needle, Blockhead Hans, The Steadfast Tin-soldier, Hermod and Hadvor, The Nightingale, The Witch in the Stone Boat, The Tinder-box, The Story of Big Klaus and Little Klaus, In the Land of Souls...and more!
