Details:

Why do alot of Region FREE dvd players that are able to play on ANY tv have 4-16MB in them? Do they contain a harddrive?

since they can play any region and have to play on any tv they use the memory to transcode the video from one format to another so it will play on your tv  It is used by the processor to convert pal to ntsc or ntsc to pal. You need to be careful on which one you get, some make pretty bad conversions. so look for comparisons about the dvd players
