Miley Cyrus, Framed Posted Sat 19 Jul 2008 12:11PM NZST by John Kordosh in Framed
Well, it had to happen--sooner or later, an artist was bound to repeat as a subject here in Framed--and this is our first time. And so we’d like to congratulate Miley Cyrus.
Miley is a flat-out phenomenon these days, and this week’s video, “7 Things,” is from her second studio LP, Breakout. It’s a doozy. Cyrus herself has said that “the lyrics are ‘Miley going through, like, 900 emotions while I'm trying to write a song,’” and it shows. She lists seven things she hates--and then seven things she likes--about her ex-boyfriend. Rumor has it that the song’s about Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.
Is that true? Heck, we don’t know… but we have to admit that we like this video a lot. It’s cleverly shot, superimposing images of various tween girls onto Miley’s image, thus cementing the artist-audience bond. We’d like to also congratulate director Brett Ratner, who did a heckuva job here.
The bottom line, as always, is what you think. Please enjoy the video and our captions to the various frames we’ve pulled. But also let us know your thoughts. Miley’s best work yet, or not?? You make the call!
