"Education is required in order to enjoy liberty."

However, that being said.  Not all education takes place in a formal classroom.  Certainly our forefathers did not have the luxury of 13+ years of formal education.

In today's world education is of course essential.  Without it one wouldn't know what has been done-invented; what has been tried and what hasn't.  To know these things some formal education is required.  However, many highly educated individuals do not have any COMMON SENSE.  Common Sense is just as important as being educated is. A sense of of morality is needed also, or else this world would be even more evil than it is.

Liberty-to me at least-does not mean freedom to do whatever I want, whenever I want to whomever I want.  That is chaos.  Liberty means doing what is best for everyone in the least restrictive means, causing no one harm, but requiring personal responsibility to do what is right.

Liberty like freedom-is neither free nor a 'right' both need to be earned.

You can have education without Liberty (pick any technologically advanced dictatorship) but you can't have Liberty without education. The ignorant are easily controlled.
