"God can create anything, so there is nothing I can give him that he can't make for himself, right? Wrong!"

When you were a kid, you had imaginary friends.  You had dolls that you talked to, invisible buddies you shared secrets with - but what happened when you grew older?  You matured, and there was no satisfaction in pretend friends.  You sought to be with people who liked you because of who you were, for only then did you truly enjoy companionship.

God, with all his power and wisdom, cannot create companionship that is satisfying to him.  He created the earth, all living things, and us.  Now he gives us guidance and waits for us to grow, mature, and make the decision to love Him for who He is, at which time he can truly enjoy our companionship.  Just as we were with our pretend friends we outgrew, God is far above enjoying the company of automatons; He is not intereste in what he can MAKE people do.

He is interested in what people will do of their own free choice!

"He wants to help us achieve our potential"

God wants us to be happy.

Our Heavenly Father prepared this earth with the conditions necessary for us, his children, to learn and grow.  He can teach us many things directly, but to really understand the principles of happiness, it helps to experience what happens when people make both good and bad choices.  The existence of competing concepts of truth encourages us to develop an understanding of right and wrong ourselves instead of just depending on someone else to give us the answers.

Allah (God) does not need or want anything from us.  We are the ones who are in need of Allah's (God's) grace.  It is a mistake to attribute human needs and wants to Allah (God).

Hi Sasha, no worries ;)

There is someone in my family with similar problems to you - my fault for not knowing you better. ;) What really matters is that those around you - close to you - know you well & understand you well enough regardless. ;) Ignore us here at Askville - we are just strangers & will never know you well enough. Sorry I've not replied sooner. I hope you have picked up a little. Sorry if I caused you distress. ;)
