Mike Capuano has been endorsed by Congressman John F. Tierney and will be endorsed by Congressman Stephen Lynch tonight.

Tierney's announcement was made at an Open Mike event at the Brothers’ Deli in Lynn, where Congressman Tierney offered a strong endorsement of support for Capuano’s campaign for Senate.

“Mike joined me in opposing the Iraq War and the excesses in the originally proposed Patriot Act,” said Congressman Tierney. “I am supporting Mike in his campaign for Senate because I know how hard he works to stand up for middle-class families, to achieve affordable, universal health care, and to create jobs here in Massachusetts. There is no other candidate in this race who can match his work ethic, his years of legislative experience, and his steadfast commitment to his principles and progressive beliefs. We need Mike to continue his fight for progress in the United States Senate.”

Later tonight, Congressman Stephen Lynch will formally endorse Mike Capuano for U.S. Senate at an Open Mike event in South Boston. The event will begin at 6:00pm at Amrheins Restaurant, 80 West Broadway, South Boston.

Since the campaign began, “Open Mike” events have taken place all across the Commonwealth as an opportunity for Congressman Capuano to share his progressive vision and to give voters a forum to talk with Mike about issues that concern them.
