More hassle = less feedback, surely? Why not just have a single-click feedback option for people who don't want the hassle of filling in every field, making a comment, etc.? It's only a book!

"I guess this is because Amazon needs other statistical information about their consumers."

That could be done, what you proposed, but it wouldn't serve the purpose of Amazon in collecting information about their customers' demographics and other things that they need to know in order to make more sales and be able to serve their customers better.

Review of
Amazon.co.uk Marketplace

I have mainly had experience on buying from amazon market place so this is what this review is on.
Ease of use: It is always easy to find exactly what you are looking for, just put in your search select your item, then select get used and new from the corner, and finally select your seller.

Shipping: The shipping is fixed by amazon not by the seller, one problem with this is for buying small electronics, USB sticks etc, where while very light the postage is over £5, however as a general rule, sellers seem to set their prices to take into account postage.
Delivery times: As you are buying from numerous small sellers the delivery times vary, however normally it has been quick often within a few days, though there have been a few times when it has taken weeks for an order to arrive.

Customer service: This likewise varies from seller to seller, in this case I have normally found that the smaller sellers, just selling a few items are normally better than the larger sellers, when it comes to responding to your e-mails.
Quality of products: This varies, and although generally the tags, like new, new etc. tell you about the condition, price is also generally a good indicator, if it's costing you a penny plus postage, don't expect perfection, as such it is generally a matter of you get what you pay for.

Feedback: One problem, is that the feedback system isn't fantastically well integrated, and it is quite hard to leave feedback, however, viewing the sellers feedback itself is very easy, and is always displayed in the listing.
Overall: Buying on Amazon market place, does have it's advantages, the whole system is integrated with amazon, so no paying separate buyers, it's all done through your amazon account. Of course service varies from seller to seller, and of course you always have to take a slight risk, so I'm not sure if I would want to use them for more expensive purchases.

OK, but I see feedback as something I do to compliment the seller, not as information for Amazon about customers' demographics, which is a different matter.
